Faith Story

by Jason

My faith life is a work in process. At this stage in my life, I have realized that my faith comes as a result of God’s free gift of grace. I am totally undeserving of this gift. In fact, based upon the life I have led, God has every right to rescind this free offer. I have done nothing to earn it.

It isn’t the question of whether God does or does not exist that requires my faith. The difficulty that I have is that God is willing to accept me for who I am and that he forgives me and loves me despite my shortcomings.

The enormity of the gift is difficult for me to comprehend and therefore sometimes tests my faith.

I am thankful to have such a loving God and for being associated with a great community of believers at Zion.

I know that in the course of my life I may lose everything, but if I have faith nothing else will matter.

What we believe

Lutherans still celebrate the Reformation on October 31 and still hold to the basic principles of theology and practice espoused by Martin Luther, such as Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura:

Another of Luther’s principles was that Scriptures and worship need to be in the language of the people.
